He came to Crawford County, PA, and settled on a farm of 120 acres improved land in Conneaut Township in 1878, and built a fine residence thereon in 1881. He kept a high grade of cattle and sheep. He was a Director and one of the principal stockholders of the Linesville Savings Bank; in politics a Republican; a strong advocate of temperance.
