General Notes: Husband - William Larimer Douglass, Esq.


He was educated at the common schools, attended the Elder's Ridge Academy, and subsequently graduated from the law department of the Chicago University. Mr. Douglass was also a civil engineer, and was engaged in that business for some years. In 1882 he was appointed justice of the peace by Gov. Henry M. Hoyt, and in 1883 was elected by the people to that office.
In 1864 he enlisted in Co. E, 6th P. H. A., at the age of fifteen years, and served until the close of the war.
He and his wife were members of the Presbyterian Church of Mount Vernon. He was a member of Rankin Post, No. 127, department of Pennsylvania, G. A. R., and was instrumental in forming the association that erected the magnificent Grand Army hall at Boston, Pennsylvania, which was located on the fort field, where his ancestors battled with the American Indians.
