General Notes: Husband - Joseph Douthitt

He was a teamster in the Revolutionary War.

He removed from Carlisle, Pennsylvania, in 1796, and settled in Chippewa township, Beaver County, thus becoming one of its early pioneers.

He was born in Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, but later settled in Beaver County, where he achieved prominence as a very successful and prosperous farmer. Politically, he was a Democrat. His wife bore him twelve children, of whom Jonathan was among the youngest. In the matter of religious preferences he favored the Presbyterian Church.
