1. Amos Alexander Evans, born Nov. 26, 1785; an illustrious son.
2. Sarah, who married Robert Gallaher.
3. Robert, who married and with his family removed to Iowa.
4. John.
5. Jane, who never married and died early in life.
6. Levi Hollingsworth, who was State Senator and Judge of the Orphans Court.
7. George, who went to Mexico and died at Matamoras.
8. William, died young.
9. Mark, died young.

Amos Alexander Evans attended Newark Academy; later studied medicine under Dr. Benjamin Rush and at the University of Pennsylvania; became a surgeon in the United States Navy. During the war of 1812 he was assigned to the frigate "Constitution." He was present during the famous engagement with the "Guerriere" and for the high character of services rendered he received commendations from the Secretary of the Navy and two medals from the Congress of the United States. He afterwards practiced medicine at Elkton, Maryland, until his death, January 15, 1848.
