General Notes: Husband - John Dreese

He received a good education in English and German, and followed farming on the old family homestead up to the time of his marriage, when he removed to Mifflin County, Pennsylvania, purchasing a farm of 500 acres in Decatur township. About one-half of this land was under cultivation. He placed the remainder under the plow, and made many improvements on the place, extensively engaging in farming and stock raising there.
He was a Republican in his political belief. He held membership in the Lutheran Church, served as one of its elders, and served his neighborhood as school director.
