General Notes: Husband - John McGaughey

---

In 1848 he began to learn the carpenter trade. He lived after marriage on a farm in Cowanshannock township, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. He worked at his trade most of the time, but also farmed at times.

He and his wife were the parents of ten children. Eight of them died in childhood of diphtheria.
