General Notes: Husband - Robert Nelson

He was born in Ireland, and when thirteen years old settled in Lawrence County, PA. He was killed by a falling tree while clearing land.

Being of an adventurous spirit, he emigrated to America in the early part of the nineteenth century, taking up his residence in Lawrence County, PA. Taking up a tract of wild land, he began the improvement of a homestead, and had made good progress in the work, when he was accidentally killed by a falling tree, leaving a wife and eight children.

He was born in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania and his entire active career was devoted to farming and stock raising in Lawrence County, where he met death by accident in April, 1836. While working in the woods clearing off his land he cut one tree which lodged in another as it fell. In cutting down the second tree a limb fell striking him in the neck and severing the jugular vein. [GPHAV, 661]
