General Notes: Husband - John Thompson

He was reared on a farm, and learned the hatter's trade, which he followed in connection with tilling his farm. He assisted in surveying Middlesex township, and was one of the well known citi­zens of pioneer days. He was a life-long member of the Presby­terian church, and was a trustee in that denomination. He took quite an active interest in public affairs, was first a Whig, and then a Republican, and filled at different periods most of the township offices. He died on the old family homestead.
