General Notes: Husband - Joseph Wallace

He was born in Jefferson Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and reared in North Fayette Township, same county. When a boy he did not manifest any fondness for books, but seemed to prefer the work of the farm to the study of his lessons in the schoolhouse. He was a thrifty and successful farmer, and became possessed of the homestead of his father, and also succeeded him as an elder in Raccoon Church. When the infirmities of age began to tell upon him, he retired from the labors of the farm and built a residence in Oakdale, where he later died. He was a good man, could not be idle, and he devoted the latter years of his life to good works.

He and his wife had seven children; two were still living in 1889.
