General Notes: Husband - Samuel Alexander

He was born in Ireland, whence, in 1763, he emigrated to America. He first located at Chadd's Ford, Chester County, Pennsylvania, and in 1785 they moved to Allegheny County, and there he patented 360 acres of land, lying two miles from Bridgeville.
He and his wife had three children, two sons and a daughter, all born at Chadd's Ford. In 1785 he moved his family to Allegheny County, where he patented three hundred and sixty acres of land, situated two miles from the location that became the village of Bridgeville.

He was born in the Emerald Isle of Scotch-Irish parents, and was a soldier in the British army. The family emigrated to America some time during the first part of the seventeenth century, settling in Maryland. [CBRWC, 220 correctly places Chadd's Ford in Chester County, Pennsylvania. CBRWC, 521 places it in Maryland.]
