He was reared and educated in his native township, and lived on the home farm until 1905. Having secured a position on the mail service between Sheakleyville and Hadley, he then removed to Sheakleyville and in April, 1909, established a livery business there. In politics he was a Democrat, and his fraternal connections are with Sheakleyville Lodge No. 592, I. O. O. F.
