He was reared on the farm, received a common-school education, and also attended Waynesburg College for some time. He met with more than average success in his chosen occupation of farming and stock-growing. He was Republican in politics, and one of the influential citizens of his community. Mrs. Dunn was a faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
