General Notes: Husband - S. F. Lytle


He was reared in West Middlesex, Mercer County, Pennsylvania, where he received a common school education, and at the age of fourteen commenced an apprenticeship at the finishing trade, which he followed three years. He then worked in a dry goods store about three years, followed furnace work until 1877, when he entered the employ of the E. & P. R. R. Company as brakeman, was baggage master for a while, and in 1885 was promoted to freight conductor, and in 1892 to passenger conductor.
He was a member of the O. R. C., the Royal Arcanum and Masonic order. The family were members of the English Lutheran Church, and he was a Republican.
