IN MEMORIAM.
Walter L. Eakin
Dedicated To His Family

At morn when our eyes ope' from slumber,
On that which the night hath made new;
Thoughts turn to the bright land of sunshine,
And in memory we dwell with you.

With the passing away of the moments,
Though centuries old, always true,
Comes the noon, telling softly in whispers,
Of old happy days spent with you.

And the gathering shadows of evening,
Robing earth in its mystical hue.
When the heavens with bright stars are gleaming,
Our brother, we then dream of you.

So at morn, or at noon, or at evening,
From your bright happy land far away;
Sweet influences o'er us come stealing,
Easing sorrows of lifes little day.

Noble hearted, generous manhood.
Dear son in the land of the blest,
Sleep on, your earth's work is ended,
Now rest, eternal rest.
