General Notes: Husband - William Alliston Eakin

He was born Aug. 25, 1809, likely in Clinton Township, and was a lifelong resident of Venango County, PA. He lived with his parents in Scrubgrass (now Clinton) Township until grown, and when he started life on his own account took up his residence on the farm in Irwin Township where his son David and posterity have since been established. The land was then in the woods and entirely unimproved, and he built a cabin near the site of the present barn, replacing it with a comfortable house in the early forties. By steady industry he succeeded in making a good living and bringing his land into fertile condition, becoming one of the substantial men in his neighborhood and retaining the esteem of his fellow citizens throughout a long life. His religious association was with the United Presbyterian Church. [CAB, 977] Note that the same source gives conflicting information regarding his birth. [CAB, 910] See also CAB, 549.

HVC 1890, 992 agrees that he was about two years of age when his father brought the family to Venango County, PA, in 1799.
