He was born, bred and married in Wales. He came to the United States on a prospecting tour, and having selected a location, sent for his family, who joined him in Butler County, PA. He afterwards moved to Mercer County, bought a farm in East Lackawannock Township, and resided there the remainder of his years. [HMC 1909, 894]
