General Notes: Husband - Thomas St. Clair Elliott

He was reared at Franklin, PA, where he had excellent public school advantages. When ready to take up the serious duties of life he worked with his father, under whom he gained a thorough knowledge of the tinning business, becoming an expert workman. In 1906 he engaged in business on his own account, and he added slating to the original line, having a large trade as a general contractor and in repair work. His business location was on Howard Street. Like his father and grandfather he was a member of the Democratic Party, and he served many times on the election board and for over ten years as register of his district, his familiarity with the work making his cooperation very desirable. In the November election, 1917, he was chosen a member of the city council. He was a Presbyterian in religious association, an Odd Fellow in fraternal affiliation. During the Spanish-American war he enlisted in Company F, 16th Pennsylvania Regiment, and saw service in Porto Rico. [CAB, 724]
