General Notes: Husband - Robert Stockdale


The rudiments of his education was gained in the district school, and the business of farming, which employed his mature years, he learned at home. He was a careful student of every-day events, an intelligent man. He was a consistent member of the Christian Church, a pious man. Attentive to his own business, he was prosperous and respected.

He was born on the home place in Allen township, Washington County, Pennslyvania, and there received a subscription-school education. He married and they settled on the old family farm.
he was a Democrat in politics, and in religious faith was a member of the Church of Christ at Fayette City.
