General Notes: Husband - John Henry Emhuff

He was educated in the public schools of Armstrong and Clarion counties, Pennsylvania, and after reaching his legal majority devoted practically all his attention to farming and the raising of high-grade cattle. He was the owner of one hundred and twenty acres of most arable land in Porter township, near New Bethlehem, and on this farm achieved considerable success as a breeder of Percheron horses. In politics he was staunch in his allegiance to the principles and policies of the Democratic party. In church matters he was a member of the Reformed church.
