Alvin R. Emrick
Alvin R. (Dutch) Emrick, 86, of Shippenville RD 1 died at 11:15 am Thursday at his residence.
Born February 28, 1905, in Elk Township, Clarion County, he was a son of Harry L. and Mary Thompson Emrick.
He married the former Mabel I. Exley in 1927. She preceded him in death in 1971.
Mr. Emrick was a life-long farmer in Elk Township. He was of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by three sons, Harry L. Emrick of Elk City, Charles F. Emrick of Knox RD 1 and Neil L. Emrick at home; six daughters, Mrs. William (Janet) Myers of Knox RD, Mrs. Donald (Philis) Bish of Fairmount City, Mrs. Robert (Maraballe) Rice of Kennerdell, Mrs. Lloyd (Theatis) Beary of Clarion, Mrs. Larry (Darlene) Stewart of Rimersburg and Mrs. Nelson (Karen) Craig of Shippenville RD; 26 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Ann; a brother, Milo Emrick; and a sister, Minnie Louella Emrick.
Friends may call after 2 pm today at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home on Main Street in Knox. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday in the funeral home with Rev. David Roddy of Shippenville United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will be in Knox-Union Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of one's choice.
