He bought the Thomson farm, consisting of 600 acres, and which was known as "Corker Hill," from the Bank of Chambersburg, paying $30 an acre. After his death it was divided among his children. He was a prominent man of his day, and was an official member of the Lutheran Church.
He died at the age of seventy-one years.
