General Notes: Husband - John English

---

He received his education in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, where he farmed until 1858, when he left the plow to engage in mercantile business in Perryville, and, although he had no previous training in that line, he was very successful.
He and his wife were members of the Presbyterian Church, of which he was treasurer for thirty years.
