He was admitted to the bar of Warren County, Pennsylvania, December, 1866; served two terms in the Pennsylvania house of assembly; resided at Tidioute, Warren County, Pennsylvania, until 1882, then moved to Denver, Colorado. In fall of 1912 was elected for fifth time to the bench of the District Court of Colorado, having once been appointed to the supreme bench of the state; a man of the highest legal attainments.
