General Notes: Husband - Cadwallader Evans, M.D.

He attended school at McKeesport, Pennsylvania, and graduated at Washington and Jefferson College, Cannonsburg, in 1866, and studied medicine, graduating at Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, in 1868. He first located at Braddock; then, in 1869, in Hazelwood, Pittsburgh, where he successfully followed his profession until 1882. In that year, acquiring an interest in the Oliver & Roberts Wire Co., he abandoned the practice of medicine, and thereafter was actively engaged in the wire-manufacturing industry. Dr. Evans was prominent in political as well as in business and medical circles. For more than fifteen years he continuously represented his ward in the city council, as member of the select branch.
