General Notes: Husband - Rev. A. B. Runyan

He was educated at the Bloomsburg Academy and the Lewisburg University, and commenced preaching in the Two Lick Baptist Church in 1852, where he remained for one and a half years. His charges have been: Brush Valley two years; New Bethlehem, Pine Creek and Red Bank, three years; Clarion and Strattonville, three years; Curwensville, Reynoldsville, and Clearfield, subsequently adding Ansonville in place of Reynoldsville; and West Lebanon. He then entered the army as a member of company L, 6th Pennsylvania heavy artillery, and served nearly one year. On his return, he resumed the pastorate of West Lebanon, serving the Indiana church as a supply. His subsequent parishes have been: Apollo, where he organized the church, and Branch of Brady's Bend; Lock Haven; Eagleville, where he organized the church, and Milesburg; the Johnston and other parts of the year; and Crooked Creek, Rayne and Old Mahoning.
Despite his labors in so many counties, he retained his residence on the old Evans homestead, near Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
