General Notes: Husband - Robert Evans


He was the youngest of three brothers (the others were John and James; James married Isabella Kilpatrick, sister of Robert's wife) who settled in Cecil County, Maryland. About 1730 he purchased three hundred acres on the Big Elk, west of Cowantown, later the site of the Parke-Smith rolling mill, and of the old iron bridge. He was a successful tanner and bought lands at the Head of Elk (Elkton), in New Munster and elsewhere.

5. Margaret, who married James Black (grandfather of Mrs. John C. Groome).
6. Eleanor, who married Capt. Walter Alexander.
7. John, who married Mary Alexander.
8. Robert, who was commissioned a lieutenant in the Revolutionary army but met with accidental death before entering service.
