General Notes: Husband - James Whitehill


He was a successful farmer, and owned 400 acres.
He and his wife were members of the Mill Creek Presbyterian church, of which he was clerk and chorister for many years.

was born on the family homestead, a little below Kendall, Hanover township, Beaver county, Pennsylvania, and there his marriage took place. Shortly afterward he purchased a farm of four hundred acres in Hanover township, on which he built a house, but about 1850 removed to the Ewing place in Greene township; he retained his ownership of the farm in Hanover township, later returned to it, and died there in 1856. He was an active member of the Whig party, and served as township assessor and as constable. Both he and his wife were members of the Mill Creek Presbyterian Church.
