Albert Russell Exley, 82, of Knox RD 3 died at 6 am Friday in Clarion Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born November 12, 1905, in the Knox area, he was a son of the late Fred and Minta Wentling Exley.
He married the former Freeda Theiss on January 29, 1931, and she survives.
He was employed by John Trunk Construction in Clarion until he retired in 1970.
He was a member of Mount Joy United Methodist Church and the Wentlings Corners senior citizens group.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Louella Jean) Moore of Knox; and two sisters, Mrs. Albert (Cathleen) Murray of Parker RD and Mrs. Clyde (Virginia) Shick of Oak Ridge.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Laird Exley and Charles Exley; and two sisters, Mrs. Russell (Frances) Buck and Mrs. Alvin (Mabel) Emrick.
Friends will be revived from 2:30 to 4:30 pm and from 7 to 9 pm today, at the William N. Rupert Mortuary in Knox.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. Charles Jack, pastor of Mount Joy United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mount Joy cemetery.

Freda M. Theiss Exley
Freda M. Theiss Exley, 90, of Knox RD, died at 7:20 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, in Beverly Healthcare-Shippenville.
Born Jan. 29, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Maude Hallman Theiss. Following the death of his wife, Charles married Rose Ellen Alders, also de­ceased.
Mrs. Exley was retired from Owens-Illinois Glass in Clarion, where she also had been a union of­ficer.
She was a very active member of Mount Joy United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Exley also belonged to several conservation and game clubs and enjoyed gardening and spending time with friends.
She was married in 1930 to A. Russell Exley, who died in 1987.
Surviving are a daughter, Louella Jean Moore and her husband, Dr. Frank B. Moore of Knox; three sis­ters, Mrs. Ralph (Hazel) Myers and Mrs. Cecil (Mae) Miller, both of Knox, and Thelma Dehner of Strat­tanville; and several nieces and nephews,
In addition to her parents and stepmother, Mrs. Exley was pre­ceded in death by a sister, Eva Reed, and a brother, William Theiss.
Public visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the David C. McEntire Funeral Home, Knox.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 am, Wednesday at Mount Joy Cemetery, Knox RD, with the Rev. Dan Myers, pastor the Mount Joy United Methodist Church, officiating.
