Ralph Ziegler Of Van Dies
Ralph E. Ziegler, 67, of Van, Cranberry Township tax collector for the past 11 years, died in his home at 9:30 p.m. Thursday.
He was born December 10, 1894, in Maple Shade, a son of John Howe and Mary Almeda Hogue Ziegler.
A draftsman, he was employed by the National Transit Pump and Machine Company, Joy Manufacturing Company, and the Knox Glass Company.
He was a member of the Van Methodist Church.
He is survived by his widow, the former Grace Exley; one daughter, Mrs. Marshall (Eloise) Stover of Oil City; and three sons, Dr. Nyle Ziegler of Van, Robert D. Ziegler of Oil City, and Donald Ziegler of Van.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Lena Beck of Knox and Mrs. Thomas Exley of Clintonville. One sister, Mrs. Fannie Hess, and a brother, Harley, preceded him in death.
He had nine grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Charles A. Morrison Funeral Home after 7 p. m. today. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p. m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. Saturday.
Funeral arrangements will be announced.

Grace Ziegler, 80, Ex-Teacher, Dies
Grace Ziegler of Cranberry Star Route, died at 9 pm yesterday at Franklin hospital.
Mrs. Ziegler was born Oct. 23, 1897 in Woodville, Ohio, the daughter of John and Anna Hagerty Exley.
She was a member of the Van United Methodist Church, Holly Chapter 91 Order of the Eastern Star, the United Methodist Women, the Retired Teachers' Association, the YWCA and its Gallivanter Club.
Mrs. Ziegler taught school for 25 years in Rockland and Cranberry and served as tax collector in Cranberry, to complete her late husbandis unexpired term.
Her husband, Ralph E. Ziegler, died Aug 2, 1962.
She is survived by three sons, Dr. Nyle D. Ziegler of Shippenville RD 1, Robert B. Ziegler of Oil City, and Donald D. Ziegler of Cranberry Star Route, and one daughter, Mrs. Marshall (Eloise) Stover of Oil City.
In addition, two brothers, James Exley of Cranberry Star Route and John R. Exley of Curwensville, and one sister, Helen Exley of Cranberry Star Route, also survive.
Ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.
One brother, Thomas Exley, preceded her in death.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 pm today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Wednesday at the Charles A. Morrison Funeral Home.
The body will be taken to Van United Methodist Church at noon Thursday where funeral services will be held at 2 pm. Rev. Richard Saylor will of­ficiate.
Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
