General Notes: Husband - Michael Fair

He came from Germany with his parents, settling on the Schuylkill river, near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, prior to the Revolution, in which his father served as a soldier of the colonies. After the war Michael Fair settled in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, with his brother John.

Another source states that he was born near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

He was a great hunter, and lived at a time when population was sparse and wild game plenty. He crossed the Allegheny mountains by wagon in company with Jacob Steelsmith, they being the first settlers in Armstrong County.
