General Notes: Husband - Valentine Feigel


He was born in Rubenheim, Germany, there grew to maturity, and served in the French army over fourteen years, under Charles X., and Louis Phillippe. He learned the carpenter's trade, and in 1839 immigrated to St. Louis, Missouri, and the following year took up his resi­dence in Butler, Pennsylvania, where he worked at his trade for many years.
He served as burgess of But­ler, and was an adherent of the Democratic party. The family were connected with the Lutheran church.
