General Notes: Husband - Jacob Runninger

He married fairly late in life. Sarah Wice kept house for them because "Aunt Susan" was never very well and spent most of her time sitting in a rocking chair. Jacob was a farmer and owned a farm on the Georgetown Road. His mar­riage to Susan may have been the cause of his sister Elizabeth's falling out with him. Old letters in the family only say that "Aunt Susan's com­ing caused trouble all around".
When he died, he willed his wife Susan $3000.00 plus all the interest on his money drawing interest at the time of his death. He also left the house to her, which he had recently purchased from J. F. Welton, 1 horse, harness, and buggy, and all of the household goods. The remainder of his estate he left to his nieces and nephews to share equally (except that John Sherman Runninger was to receive a double share). He also stipulated in his will that when his wife died, the house he left to her was to go to Sarah Wice.
