General Notes: Husband - Joseph Peairs

He purchased his farm in Elizabeth township, Allegheny County, from the state of Pennsylvania in 1778, and there lived with his wife and family until his death. The old Peairs farm adjoins the Old Round Hill church, the ground occupied by that church and by Round Hill Cemetery having been originally a part of the Peairs farm.

Of Dutch parentage, he, with his wife, lived near Dunbar in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. In 1778 he bought from the state of Pennsylvania, a farm in what is now Elizabeth township, Allegheny County, and there both he and his wife later died.
