General Notes: Husband - John Chambers McGaughey


He attended Glade Run Academy, taught school several terms and spent a few years in the western states. He married and they lived first on a farm in West Mahoning township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, until December, 1875, when they moved to Covode, Indiana County, and engaged in mercantile business. Afterwards he purchased a portable saw-mill, and located five or six miles from Covode, and engaged in sawing and dealing in lumber.
