General Notes: Husband - William Allen, Sr.

He came with his parents to America in 1818, and in 1836 removed with them from Pittsburgh to Butler County. He removed from the farm to Zelienople in 1845, engaged in butchering and continued in the same line of business until 1880, when he retired.
The family were adherents of the English Lutheran church of Zelienople. Politically, Mr. Allen was a Democrat, and filled several offices in Jackson township.
