General Notes: Husband - Jacob Fisher

He was of German descent. His entire life was spent in farming. His opportunities for an education were only such as the district schools of that period afforded, but he so improved them that he was well qualified to transact all ordinary business and to converse intelligently upon all subjects of general interest. He always resided on the farm on which he died and where he was successfully engaged for many years in grain-raising and stock-dealing. By economy and good management he accumulated quite an amount of property and at the time of his death had fair prospects for acquiring considerable wealth. His farm of one hundred acres of land was situated two miles from Mt. Pleasant, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and he made many improvements on it. This farm was partly underlaid with coal and other valuable minerals.
