General Notes: Husband - Benjamin Fletcher


He came from one of the Eastern States - probably Massachusetts - and settled in Butler County, PA, about the year 1800.
He was the owner of a 500 acre tract of land in Parker Township, Butler County, PA, on a part of which Martinsburg, now the borough of Bruin, was built.

He was born in Connecticut, and became a pioneer of Parker township, Butler County, PA. There he became prominent in several ways, building a grist and saw-mill which he oper­ated until his death.


General Notes: Wife - Elizabeth Hemphill


This family was of of Scotch-Irish descent. About 1796, she and three brothers settled in Fairview township, Butler County, PA. All married there and reared families.
