He came to Venango County, PA, in 1835.
Civil War: Co. L, 4th PA Vol Cavalry. Enlisted Oct 9, 1861; discharged July 3, 1865.
History of Venango County states that he had ten children, but various lists seem to compile to eleven. It is possible the HVC 1890 confused daughter Charity Ann with son Charles A.
In 1890 he was pastor of the Church of God at Emericksville, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, of which church he and wife were members. In politics he was a Republican.

Franklin Flowers.
Franklin Flowers, aged 82, of Coal City, died at his home at 4:20 Tuesday morning. Bright's disease was the cause of death.
Besides his wife, who has been an invalid for twelve years, the following children survive: Dr. A. J. Flowers, of Fairmont, W. Va.; Mrs. W. W. Hudson, of Toledo, O.; Mrs. Frank Sopher, of Hartford City, Ind.; Mrs. B. F. Melat, of Franklin; Frank, of Coal City, and Jacob, at home.

Mrs. Susanna Flowers.
Mrs. Susanna Flowers, aged 81 years, widow of Rev. Frank Flowers, who died only six weeks ago, passed away at her home at Coal City Tuesday afternoon. She was a daughter of George and Elizabeth Snyder, known and highly respected by a large circle of friends. These children survive the devoted mother: Dr. H. A. Flowers, Fairmont, W. Va.; Frank Flowers and J. M. Flowers, Coal City; Mrs. Frank Soper, Hartford City, Ind.; Mrs. W. W. Hudson, Toledo, O. and Mrs. B. F. Melat, Franklin. She also leaves two brothers and one sister.
