Howard M. Flowers
Word has been received here of the death of Howard M. Flowers, son of Mrs. Elsie Flowers, of this city, which took place in the hospital at Nocona, Tex., at 1 a. m. today following a heart attack.
He was born in Kennerdell Jan. 3, 1897, a son of Mrs. Flowers and the late Frank M. Flowers. The early part of his life was spent around Franklin and vicinity.
He was a member of the Methodist Church, in Nocona, the F. and A. M. Consistory, of Fort Worth, Tex. He was a World War I veteran.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Clara Stroup Flowers; a sister, Mrs. George Schock, of Kennerdell; and a brother, Clarence A., of Franklin.

Clara E. Flowers
Mrs. Clara E. Flowers, 85, of Nocona, Texas, former Rockland school teacher, died at Clay County Memorial Hospital in Henrietta, Texas, March 23.
She is the sister-in-law of Clarence Flower and Mrs. Ethel Schoch of Frank­lin.
Mrs. Flowers was born July 25, 1895 near Franklin, the daughter of Laurance Stroup and Clara Louisa Askey Stroup. She was married to Howard Flowers on June 11, 1918. He died on March 2, 1950.
She was a retired bookkeeper for Lee Baughn Buick and Nocona Gas Co. Mrs. Flowers was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Nocona. She was an active member of the Thursday Literary Club, the Ruth Sunday School Class of the First United Methodist Church, and a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 62, Nocona, for over 35 years.
She moved to Nocona in the early 1930s, and was a past matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Skiatook, Oklahoma Chapter 256.
Funeral services were held March 25 at 4 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Nocona, with the Rev. Merwin Turner officiating. Burial was held at the Nocona Cemetery.
Survivors include two nephews, Ron Hess of Pittsburgh, Howard Stroup of Port Orange, Fla.; two nieces, Mrs. Louise Atkinson of Elisia, N.C., Mrs. Betty Duffield of California, and one cousin, Paul Duffield of Shawnee, Okla.
