General Notes: Husband - Cyrus Foltz


He learned the trade of a carpenter in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, and afterward worked at coachmaking in Chambersburg. In 1856, he joined the Kansas colony from Franklin County, and shared in the rough experiences of the territory. He filled by appointment responsible positions in the Southwestern service during the Civil war, and by election he was county commissioner. He owned a farm near Manhattan, Kansas, and was successful as a farmer and stockman.
