General Notes: Husband - Daniel Shanor

He was born in Franklin township, Butler county, PA, grew to maturity on the homestead farm and inherited the farm at his father's death. He resided on it until 1891, when he purchased another farm of 105 acres, and operated both places, making a total acreage of 268 acres. In 1891 oil was discovered upon the old homestead, and there were at least seven producing wells located there, with a total production of fifty-six barrels per day. They were operated by McFarland & Company. Politically, Mr. Shanor was a Democrat, and was one of the enterprising farmers of Franklin township.
