Forrester, S. S., served from June 6, 1862, to August 10, 1863, in Company D, 117th Ohio Infantry; re-enlisted as First Lieutenant August 11, 1863, in Company D, 1st Ohio Heavy Artillery; m. o. August 11, 1865. [HBC 1883, 128]

S. S. Forrester, merchant, began business in Prospect in 1865, in partnership with William Riddle. In 1867 he engaged in the same business in Portersville with B. Shanor, and continued there until 1869, when he returned to Prospect and resumed business with Mr. Riddle. Since 1871, he has been running a store alone. [HBC 1883, 333]
