General Notes: Husband - Thomas Forster

He came to America with his father's family, and was among the first who took up land in what is now Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. He was a gentleman of means, had received a good education, and was for many years one of the Provincial magistrates. He was removed late in life, on account of his refusal to oust some squatters on Proprietary lands. He was a prominent personage, on the then frontiers of the Province, in civil affairs. During the Indian troubles he greatly assisted in preparing for the defense of the border settlements, and his name appears frequently in the voluminous correspondence preserved in the archives of the State. He died in Paxtang, aged seventy-six years, and is buried in the old church graveyard. He was never married; the principal part of his estate went to his brother, John, and nephew, Thomas Forster, the latter named for him.
