General Notes: Husband - Hon. John Harvey Wilson


He was educated in the public schools of Clarion County, Pennsylvania, and in Reid Institute. As a young man he taught school for a number of years and subsequently was a merchant in Reidsburg. For more than twenty years he then devoted his attention to agricultural pursuits, and became the owner of eighteen hundred acres of most arable land in Clarion County. He was a general farmer and stock-raiser. In politics he is a staunch Democrat. He was elected a member of the legislature in 1874 and served with the utmost efficiency in the sessions of 1875-76. In 1886 he was elected a member of the Pennsylvania senate and served in that capacity for a period of four years. He was nominated and elected on the Democratic ticket in 1912 for membership in the assembly. He and his wife were devout Baptists.
