Falling Spring, Franklin Co, PA - a farmer

He spent the early years of his life on the farm with his parents, and received his education in the schools of the district. At an early age he entered the Frick shops at Waynesboro, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, and learned the machinist trade, but liking country life better he returned to farming, and devoted his time to that vocation.
