General Notes: Husband - Henry F. Howe


He was reared in Fallston, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, and learned the bricklayer's trade in Cincinnati, Ohio. He worked as a journeyman until the breaking out of the war of the rebellion, when June 7, 1861, he enlisted in Company G, 6th O. V. I.; was promoted to sergeant and honorably discharged June 22, 1864. In 1866 he located in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, where he then followed his trade. In 1867 he became a contractor and builder, and in 1870 became associated with J. L. Harbison, under the firm name of Howe & Harbison. He was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, the I. O. O. F., G. A. R., A. O. U. W., and Veterans' Legion. Politically he was a Democrat.
