General Notes: Husband - John Fuellhart

He was born in Grand Duchy Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany, where he received a liberal education in the best universities, such as was becoming to families of the better class of citizens.
In 1854, he and his family migrated to America, settling in New Jersey, where he became employed in State service as civil engineer for 1855-56, and under General Viele, laid out Central Park in New York City. In 1857 he located in Pennsylvania where he became engineer for the Pennsylvania & Erie Railroad. In 1863 he made the survey for the Oil City & Irvineton Railroad and was commissioned by that company to purchase the right of way; in 1864 he assisted in constructing the road, and in 1866 retired from public service, purchasing a homestead above Tidioute along the Allegheny River, where he spent the remainder of his days.
