General Notes: Husband - Daniel O. North

He was born at the old homestead in McCalmont township, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, and remained at home, working on the farm and attending school, until he attained the mature age of fifteen years, when he started out in the world to see what "Dame Fortune" had in store for him. He spent one year as a clerk in the First National Bank at Du Bois, Pennsylvania, and then, finding further study desirable, he went to Poughkeepsie, New York, to take a course in the Eastman Business College, where, after twenty-two weeks, he was graduated from the bookkeeping department. A short visit at home followed, and he then entered the Mahoning Bank, at Punxsutawney, as assistant cashier. A year later he became cashier, and held the position until the bank suspended, and beginning April 10, 1893, he became bookkeeper of the Mahoning Supply Company, at Eleanor, Jefferson County. He was a steadfast adherent of the Republican party.

Later, he was manager for the coal company's stores at Florence and Eleanor, Pennsylvania.
