General Notes: Husband - John C. Furman

The Furmans are a Colonial family, having descended from John Furman, who came from Wales in 1631 and settled in Massachusetts. They had much to do with the early Baptist colonies of New England and at a later date certain faithful Baptist clergymen among them established Furman University at Greenville, South Carolina.
