General Notes: Husband - Thomas F. Galey


His father was a farmer and oil producer, whose family consisted of eight sons and two daughters.

He attended the public schools and the high school in Clarion County, Pennsylvania. His first business was dealing in sheep, but later he embarked in oil producing in Venango County, where he met with marked success. In 1885 he was induced to accept the position of superintendent of the Bridgewater Gas Company, of which Judge Henry Hice was president.
He took an active interest in schools, and served three years as school director in Clarion County. He and his wife were members of the Methodist church. He was a F. & A. M.; politically a Democrat.
